Natural Immune System Boosters!
Immunity is a hot topic lately!
Here are some of our favorite ways to boost your immune system, naturally:
- Lemon – add it to a glass of warm water first thing in the morning to get your digestive system moving.
- Sunlight – just 15 minutes of sunlight per day can increase serotonin levels in your brain and give you some necessary Vitamin D!
- Eat whole foods – food is medicine so the more that you can eat a whole, healthy, balanced diet, the better equipped your immune system will be to fight off infection and disease. Think green veggies, berries, nuts, bananas, ginger…
- Add mineral – rich salt to your diet (and maybe even your water) – a pinch of sea salt, for example, helps the body absorb water for optimal hydration, as well as helps the body stay hydrated for longer periods of time. Sea salt is also loaded with minerals such as potassium and sodium that help release retained water.
- Sweat! – try a sauna to really get your sweat on, or of course, some high-intensity exercise to sweat out those toxins and naturally increase your stamina.
- Move your body – whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, a virtual yoga class, or a swim in your neighbor’s pool… try to move your body at least once a day!
- Rest – nothing compromises our immune systems like missing out on quality sleep. Try to get at least 6 hours a night, if possible.
Your immune system will thank you for giving it some love!
