Iโve been thinking a lot about wellness, and about how our well-being involves so much more than just our physical health. I have been reminded many times that May is Mental Health Awareness Month and I canโt help but think about the connection between our mental state, our eating and exercise habits, our relationships, and overall how we treat our bodies.
It is no secret that lack of exercise, poor nutrition, lack of sleep, and ignoring our bodiesโ signs to โslow downโ can contribute to our mental wellness. I know that I certainly donโt feel my best after a weekend of indulging and each time I ask myself, โwas it worth it?โ The older that I get, the more that I value feeling really good and I know that in most cases, I have control over that feeling.
With mental health in mind, I encourage you to take a step back and reflect on what you are truly doing for yourself and your family to feel and perform at your very best. Life is short and burning the candle at both ends will always come back to bite us. If youโre reading this, itโs probably because you have committed to optimizing your health and wellness and for that I applaud you! Letโs continue on this journey together, shall we?
