Aromatherapy: The use of aroma to enhance a feeling of well-being.
If you joined our Instagram Live session a few weeks ago, you may have heard our very own Marilyn Giragosian, RN talk about one of her favorite ways to enhance her BioCharger experience – aromatherapy. Using scent to set a particular tone in a space does not just have to be saved for spas, it can be done (affordably) in your own home or office!
Aromatherapy is typically done by using essential oils, or compounds extracted from plants. These oils are concentrated and can be used in oh so many ways. They can be rubbed on your pillowcase (go easy, one drop is usually enough!), used in an essential oil diffuser, dropped in the bath – there is a very long list of possibilities. Essential oils can be found in your local grocery store, online, and through direct distributers. Make sure to do your research and make sure that the oils that you’re purchasing are high-quality and pure.
Our favorite way to utilize essential oils is by using an Ultrasonic Diffuser (can be found on Amazon) which uses electronic frequencies to create vibrations in water which creates a fine mist that is released into the air. Pop one of those babies on during your favorite BioCharger recipe and you’re sure to have an (even more) enjoyable experience.
Here are some essential oils that we love:
Calm: lavender, ylang-ylang, jasmine, basil
Focus/Concentration: peppermint, lemon, lime
Happy: sweet orange, grapefruit, rosemary
Fun fact: you can mix the oils to create a blend of your choice! It can be fun to play around with new mixes.
