Frozen BioCharger screen? Here’s how to do a reset!
Sometimes you may turn on your BioCharger and the screen lights up, but the blue boxes don’t appear. Or maybe you try to use the stylus to click on a recipe, or anything else, and nothing happens — the screen is frozen. Don’t panic, there is a simple solution to this! Here are the steps to performing a reset in the case of an unresponsive screen:
- Turn off the BioCharger with the switch on the back of the base and wait until the screen is completely black
- You will need the little silver reset tool that came in the white accessories box with your BioCharger, or a paperclip will also suffice
- Insert the tool into the small hole that is right below the BioCharger screen, hold it in for 5 seconds, and then remove
- Power on the BioCharger with the switch on the back pressed all the way down on the dash side
- Your BioCharger should start up as it normally does, with the screen lighting up and the penguin appearing (fun fact: his name is Tux and he is the mascot of Linux), this is a good sign that the screen is properly working again
- Be patient! It usually takes a couple of minutes to completely start up and for you to see the blue boxes again
- Once the main menu of blue boxes are available, use the stylus to select your username box, browse, and choose your desired recipe to start
