OsteoStrong is a membership-based integrative health and wellness center with a focus on musculoskeletal strengthening. Using a process called osteogenic loading, OsteoStrong supports people of all ages and activity levels through quick, painless sessions designed to promote skeletal strength. Members experience improvements in bone density, posture, balance, and athletic performance, as well as reduced joint and back pain.
Kyle Zagrodzky, founder and CEO of OsteoStrong, explains that trained technicians guide members through their sessions. “Members only need to come in once per week for 15 to 20 minutes to experience the results we’re seeing. They can come dressed as they are, and they don’t break a sweat or get fatigued,” he says.
Today, OsteoStrong operates over 200 franchise locations across more than a dozen countries, serving a global community of people seeking improvements in their health.
OsteoStrong began with a single, focused offering. “In the beginning, we didn’t know how consumers would respond to OsteoStrong,” Kyle explains. “So we started as bare-bones as possible with the intention of adding modalities down the line.”
When it became clear that members were enjoying their experience with OsteoStrong, Kyle knew it was time to take the next step. He saw an opportunity to introduce complementary wellness modalities aimed at improving the membership experience.
The franchises began adding modalities one at a time, testing them to see how consumers responded. They added pulsed electromagnetic field mats, red light therapy, hydro massage beds, compression boots, vibe plates, and BioCharger.
BioCharger stood out as a particularly welcome addition to the centers. Designed to support the body’s natural ability to heal and recover, BioCharger combines four modalities—light, pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF), frequencies and harmonics, and pulsed electric fields—to support energy, balance, and overall well-being.
To date, nearly all OsteoStrong locations in the US have added the BioCharger, with international expansion underway. According to Kyle, the BioCharger benefits have been significant.
OsteoStrong wanted members—many of whom are seniors—to have more connected experiences at the centers, and BioCharger helped make that possible.
“Of all the modalities that we offer, BioCharger contributes the most to the community within each center,” Kyle says. “It becomes a gathering place where members can grab a cup of coffee, sit around, chat with each other, and enjoy the experience.” What began as a quick visit has evolved into a more social and engaging wellness routine for many members. “Franchise owners continue finding new ways to monetize the BioCharger,” Kyle adds.
Many franchises offer tiered memberships that provide access to other wellness modalities in addition to OsteoStrong. Members can choose which modality (or combination of modalities) best fits how they’re feeling on a particular day.
Kyle appreciates that the BioCharger adds an even deeper layer of personalization. Franchise owners have access to 1,500 BioCharger recipes targeting specific outcomes—no subscription fee necessary. The library of recipes continues to expand, with new ones added regularly, giving OsteoStrong an ever-deepening catalog of curated experiences for their members. “If someone has a headache or their allergies are bothering them, they can select a recipe based on what they need,” says Kyle.
OsteoStrong sessions are fully hands-on, necessitating one-on-one interaction between staff and members. When evaluating new modalities, the company sought options that wouldn’t burden existing staff or require new hires. “We didn’t want to do anything that would increase operating costs,” says Kyle.
BioCharger fits seamlessly within OsteoStrong’s lean business model. Members can start their sessions independently, and the BioCharger doesn’t require cleaning or resetting between sessions. Staff can maintain their focus on the 1:1 OsteoStrong sessions, and franchise owners generate additional revenue without increasing expenses.
A Vendor Partnership That Supports Franchise SuccessAfter mixed experiences with vendor partnerships in the past, Kyle says BioCharger stands out for its dedicated support, including comprehensive onboarding and training. “When a product requires franchisee and consumer education, and there’s a lot of moving parts, it’s frustrating when the vendor isn’t hands-on,” he explains. He describes OsteoStrong’s experience with BioCharger as “amazing.”
“The level of service is well above what I receive from other modalities,” says Cheree Burgess, who owns an OsteoStrong franchise in Tuskawilla, Florida. “I can reach out, and within minutes or within an hour, someone gets in touch with me, saying, ‘Let’s walk through this.’ I’ve had other modalities shut down for a whole day. I’ve never had a Biocharger shut down for a minute.”
The BioCharger team also shows up for OsteoStrong in other ways that Kyle appreciates. “They’re always coming out with specials for franchisees who haven’t added one yet, and they always attend our conventions,” he says. “They’re very supportive. Everybody loves them.”
Kyle and his family also use the BioCharger at home. “My oldest son has seasonal allergies, and it really helps him,” he says. BioCharger has won over other OsteoStrong team members, too. A good friend and multi-facility owner recently visited Kyle after a long day of traveling. “She said, ‘Please tell me you have a BioCharger, I’ve got such a headache.’ She sat down and used it, and her headache went away.”
